Executive Profiles

Anthony G. Nuzzo, CEO and President

Tony Nuzzo is responsible for the strategic vision, the overall management and the leadership of Engage. With 25 years of management and marketing experience, Tony drives the growth of the company and is central to the execution of the business model.

During his career, Tony has built and managed multiple profitable businesses primarily in the financial services sector. In addition, having worked for brand name companies such as Fidelity, American Express, Johnson & Johnson and Procter and Gamble, Tony has an in-depth knowledge of the critical benefits provided by effective marketing campaigns.

Most recently, Tony was Chairman, President and CEO of Marsh & McLennan's start-up Internet bank. Prior to this, he spent six years within Fidelity Investments, five years as President and CEO of Fidelity Trust Company and subsequently Chairman for one year while serving as President and CEO of Fidelity's Temporary Services Unit. Before joining Fidelity, Tony founded a management and marketing consulting company, with blue chip clients including The Prudential Insurance Company, Chemical Bank, and the New York Football Giants. Prior to his consulting company, he was with Chemical Banking Corporation for four years with his last position as President and CEO of Chemical Bank Delaware. Earlier in his career, Tony also held various management and marketing positions within American Express, Johnson & Johnson and Procter and Gamble.

Tony has an MBA from Columbia University and a BA from Boston College, and a CLU from the American College.

Daniel Jaye, CTO and Co-founder

As CTO and co-founder of Engage, Daniel Jaye is responsible for guiding technology strategy and corporate research and development as well as establishing Engage's industry leading privacy position. Daniel has pioneered interactive marketing and data warehousing technologies and invented several of Engage's patent-pending profiling and privacy technologies. Daniel also assisted with technology strategy, planning, and coordination for Engage's majority shareholder, CMGi, prior to Engage's IPO in July of 1999.

Daniel is actively involved with several online privacy initiatives. He is a founding member and active participant in the Platform for Privacy Project (P3P) at the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), was recently appointed by the Federal Trade Commission to serve on their Advisory Committee on Online Access and Security, and the Customer Profile Exchange standard (CPExchange). . In addition, Dan is the author of an Internet Draft submitted to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) that allows Web servers to inform users of their privacy practices with regard to HTTP cookies. Daniel is a recognized expert on internet privacy and a frequent speaker on the topic at industry events, privacy conferences, and workshops hosted by the Department of Commerce and the Federal Trade Commission. This past year, Daniel testified before the full Senate Commerce Committee and also its Science, Technology And Space subcommittee.

Prior to co-founding Engage, Daniel was the Program Director for high-performance computing at Fidelity Investments, where he managed Fidelity's retail marketing data warehouse and applications and led projects responsible for enterprise-wide retail customer management and sales process re-engineering. Daniel has also managed the delivery of parallel customer database applications at Epsilon and Andersen Consulting. Daniel holds a B.A. in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Physics from Harvard.

Robert Bartlett, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President

Robert Bartlett brings over 25 years of corporate finance and operations experience to Engage. Throughout his career, Bartlett has specialized in managing business and financial processes within highly competitive markets, including operations restructuring and reorganization as CEO, COO, CFO and in other leadership positions at CMGI Solutions, World Tableware International, Flapdoodles, Farberware, and Insilco Corporation. He also has significant experience in managing consolidation, roll-up and IPO preparation strategies for several venture capital related projects.

Bartlett is a Certified Public Accountant who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Accounting from American International College.

Deborah McWhinney, President, Media

Deborah McWhinney currently serves as President of Engage Media. Deborah leads Engage in providing critical measurement and research services to the on-line business community. Deborah comes from Visa International where she was Executive Vice President of Business Planning & Strategy responsible for re-engineering the business planning process for future Visa products and services, as well as working on global emerging technologies issues for Visa member financial institutions. She has also worked with Bank of America where she served as head of BankAmerica Corporation's Consumer Electronic Banking Division.

Deborah is responsible for the organization representing the centralization of our media businesses for the purposes of leveraging our people, products, and abilities to reach our profitability goals and execute on our customer commitments. Aligning the customer care function with the media business units highlights the importance of customer satisfaction and the quality of our products and services as we deliver to the marketplace. Deborah is a seasoned executive who is well respected by her peers and colleagues for her broad business expertise and ability to create effective and efficient operating environments.

Deborah has a degree in communications and business from the University of Montana where she serves on the Foundations' Board of Trustees.

Michael K. Baker
, Executive Vice President, & General Counsel

Mike Baker is responsible for Engage's corporate-wide business development initiatives and legal affairs. Prior to joining Engage, Mike was counsel to CMGI and its subsidiaries first at the Boston law firm of Palmer & Dodge and then in-house with CMGI. Before that he was with the Washington, D.C. law firm of Wiley, Rein & Fielding, where he represented media and telecommunication companies. Mike has a B.A. from Brown University, a J.D. from the University of Southern California and an M.A. in Telecommunications Management from the Annenberg Center at the University of Southern California.

Dean Wiltse, President, Engage Software

Dean Wiltse, an experienced software veteran, runs the Engage Software division, comprised of Engage Enabling Technologies and the recently acquired MediaBridge. Dean has been with Engage for over a year managing sales, marketing, development and support of the Engage profiling technology products and was instrumental in bringing MediaBridge and Engage together. Dean has over 20 years of senior management experience in the software and computer industries. He has held senior management positions with Avid Technology, Vivo Software (acquired by RealNetworks), VST Technologies and Radius.

Betsy Zikakis, VP of Marketing

As Vice President of Marketing, Betsy is responsible for all marketing functions for Engage, including brand development and integration. Betsy has over 15 years of experience in the software industry with a broad background in all aspects of marketing and product development. Her strengths lie in Internet commerce and direct marketing, but she also brings a unique blend of technical and marketing expertise to the Engage management team, with a previous background in software development. Prior to Engage, Betsy served as Retail Segment Director atMarket where she became the resident expert in business-to-consumer Internet marketing. Prior toMarket, Betsy held various sales, marketing, and product development positions in the software industry and was a management consultant with Arthur D. Little. Betsy holds an MBA from University of Virginia, and a BS in Computer Science from North Carolina State University.

John Malanowski
, Executive Vice President, Human Resources

John Malanowski is responsible for implementing and measuring the success of internal training and development programs and ensuring an overall positive corporate culture, as well as overseeing all human resources operations and supporting the company's plans for domestic and international growth. Prior to Engage, John was Vice President of Employee Care at Servicesoft, Inc., a provider of intelligent e-service solutions. John was also Vice President of human resources at Fidelity Investments where he held a number of senior level human resources positions in the technology and venture capital operating units. Prior to his tenure at Fidelity, John held similar positions at Aetna Life and Casualty, PanEnergy Corporation and Phillips Petroleum Company. He holds a Master of Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science from The State University of New York, College at Buffalo.

Thomas Rothfels
, Executive Vice President of International Operations, Engage Inc.

As Executive Vice President of International Operations, Tom Rothfels is responsible for the organization's global operations outside of the US. Overseeing regional offices in 17 countries throughout Latin America, Europe, Australia, Asia and Canada, Tom brings over ten years of advertising experience and sales leadership to the company. Concurrently, Tom is president of Engage Canada, managing and growing sales, business development, marketing and partner relationships in Canada. Prior to Engage, Tom was CEO of Gallop and Gallop Advertising Inc., and in 1996, built its new online advertising division, Virtual Billboard Network. Tom quickly grew Virtual Billboard Network to one of the largest Canadian Internet advertising networks until its acquisition by Engage, Inc. in June 2000.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University.

Peter Chaplin
, Managing Director, Engage UK

Peter Chaplin is responsible for Engage's international operations. With over 17 years experience in sales and marketing roles for computer software and services organizations, Peter provides the overall vision to develop new opportunities in the international market.

Prior to joining Engage, Peter was UK General Manager at Ontos Inc., a software company specializing in Object/Relational middle-ware technologies. Key responsibilities were for European operations including direct operations in the UK and Germany, plus setting up distributors in other countries. Previous to this, Peter worked as Divisional Sales Manager for several companies including Ilog, Inference and Comshare.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the UMIST (University of Manchester) and an MBA (University).
